WINDSOR CASTLE & HAMPTON COURT

HAMPTON COURT PALACE (5 hrs)

This ties for 1st Place with Blenheim as my favourite Royal Palace in England and is much less visited than Windsor. Atmospheric and very beautiful, Hampton Court was Henry VIII’s personal pleasure dome! Probably more child-friendly than Windsor too.

Your guide will collect you from your central London hotel for your private guided tour and together you will see;

  • http://rg-onlinesolutions.co.uk/portfolio-item/itwasntmyfault/ The medieval Kitchens with walk in fireplaces
  • go here  The Great Hall where Henry wooed Anne Boleyn and entertained his 1,200  enter site strong court with notorious banquets
  • Where William Shakespeare performed for Royalty
  • King William III’s slightly newer additions done in the very elegant French style of the time
  • The Armory Hall, designed to overwhelm any visitor who
    might be considering treason or war
  • The world famous Hampton Court Maze, the oldest maze in the world and surrounding Gardens, unmissable, with huge topiary and ancient trees

WINDSOR CASTLE (5 hrs)

Located just outside London, Windsor Castle is not only the oldest continually inhabited castle in the world, but also Queen Elizabeth’s main home and chosen residence. Built around 1080, it sits high on a hill with expansive views,  guarding the western approach to London.

Your guide will collect you from your central London hotel for your private guided tour and together you’ll see;

  • The Interior State Apartments, containing one of the most important private art and antique collections in the world
  • Queen Mary’s famous Doll’s House
  • The Great Hall
  • St George’s Chapel burial place of Kings and Queens
  • Stroll the grounds of the castle with spectacular views
  • The Castle precinct and charming old streets of Windsor

**Please note, your guide has special accreditation to guide you everywhere at Windsor Castle except the Interior State Apartments – the flow of traffic stops when others stay to listen – so excellent audio guides are included in the price of your ticket for these rooms. The palace’s own guides inside the state rooms are also available for questions.

Once your tour has been booked, tickets for Windsor Castle can be purchased in advance HERE

If you would like to have lunch in a 500 year old pub in Windsor after your tour, no problem – this makes a 6 hour tour. Just Contact Us to enquire.

THAMES VALLEY COUNTRYSIDE & PUB LUNCH (6 hrs)

Town & Country in one day.

The River Thames flows to London from The Cotswolds, perhaps the most famous rural area of England, but closer to London lies the beautiful Thames Valley, an equally lovely area of rolling hills, characterful towns, tiny villages and country pubs.

It’s proximity to London makes it ideal for a shorter tour, to taste quintessential English countryside and traditional
pub fare!

This bite size tour means that I can collect you from your central London hotel at 10.ooam for your private guided tour
to explore this this beautiful area and enjoy a delicious pub lunch, before returning you to London by mid-afternoon.

Your guide can then drop you at your hotel, or some other central location in town just in case you fancy a bit of shopping or city sightseeing.

Combined with:

WINDSOR CASTLE  or  OXFORD to create a 10 hour tour.
