Lumos! Today it’s all about Harry!

Your guide will collect you from your central London hotel for your private guided tour and the first stop aboard the ‘Experience England Hogwart’s Express’ will be:

Some of Oxford’s colleges were educating students from the early 1200’s so producers of the Harry Potter films were spoilt for choice when they needed magical looking buildings that could ‘become’ Hogwarts in the early films. In Oxford you’ll see:

  • Hogwarts main entrance hall, corridors and stairway
  • The Great Hall – inspiration for Hogwarts Dining Room*
  • Hogwarts infirmary – where Harry and Ron spent so much time
  • The cobbled streets, allies and markets of Oxford itself
  • Visit to Christ Church Chapel, which is also Oxford Cathedral

*Interior visits to a College are dependent on their opening times, which are not published until a few days before. This is something we will double-check before our tour so we know exactly what time is best to visit on a given day.

Next, wands at the ready, we’ll jump on the ‘Experience England Nimbus 2000’ and off we’ll fly to:

Arriving in time for a light lunch in the studio cafe, before you can say Muggle…

  • Would be Harrys, Rons & Hermiones (big and small) can wonder the sets where the films were made, with the help of state-of-the art, handheld, digital, audio visual guides, narrated by Daniel, Emma and friends, sharing stories of their time growing up, filming in these studios.
  • A new permanent section will offer a glimpse into how some of the films most iconic scenes were created
  • Climb aboard a ‘real’ Hogwarts Express carriage and have your photo taken with a luggage trolley as it disappears through Platform 9, 3/4
  • If you need a refresher, there’s always the chance to enjoy a glass of Butterbeer.

Please note that no guiding is allowed inside Leavesden Studios, so we advise you to book the excellent audio visual guide with your tickets.
